 Generation Z? Who is Gen Z and what do we need to know about them?

So, last week began a Series called "Not-So-Popular Truth of GENERATION Z" and the response was overwhelming! In the introduction, I explained who Gen Z is and where this post came from. You will definitely want to start with that one. PART ONE HERE! Seriously, you really want to get all the stats & details in that 1st post and hear what Tanner wanted to share. ​I invited several young ladies to share with us how they would answer this question:
and Jesus asked," Who do YOU Say that I Am?"

I see God raising up this generation right in front of our eyes! Their heart for Jesus blows me away. God IS raising up a new generation of warriors!
My heart swells to see them hungry. Asking the hard questions to know Jesus for themselves!

WHO DO I SAY THAT JESUS IS? - ​Leigh Law
 
as humans, we long for love. we have a deep desire for someone to love us and care for us. in the past, my problem was looking for satisfaction and fulfillment in others. but it took me a while to realize that i needed to step back and look at the bigger picture. as a teenager, i never thought to talk to God when the hard times came. whenever my parents got a divorce, whenever my grandmother passed away, whenever i would just feel down about myself, i would reach out to other people, not God. whenever i was going through a heart break, i would just give my heart to the next guy instead of giving it to God. i never had a relationship with God, mainly because i didn't know how. how could i have relations with someone that i couldn't see, feel, or hear? how could i ever find out for sure if God is real? 
 
but for right now - let's get back to what i was saying about us humans having that burning desire for love... we do. we have this unexplainable urge to hold on to things that hurt us. believe me, i know. and when we do this, it hurts us more than we realize. it took a while for me to wrap my mind around the fact that no one on this earth can satisfy me. sure, they can make me happy. for the time being. they can please me. for now, but it doesn't last. because in the end, it leaves me weak. it leaves me feeling like i'm not worth anything. and to think that nothing or no one in this world can complete me, is a scary thought. i remember trying to find my satisfaction in guys; trying to find love. guy after guy, heartbreak after heartbreak, and it only left me feeling empty and lonely. every single time. it only left me with an even deeper desire for someone to truly show me love is supposed to be like. and that's when God stepped in. 
 
you see, God is there for you. He wants a relationship with you. He wants your heart. and the most beautiful thing is to think that no matter what you could ever do, God still loves you just the same. and no matter how much you thirst for God, He will always give you more. there is nothing in this world that God wants more than a genuine relationship with you. another crazy thought - our God spoke the world into existence. how powerful must his words be. he could speak one word and have this world demolished. what a powerful God, but yet He is still the most gentle, loving God there is. if you ever need anything, reach out to God. He is patiently waiting for you to let go of your situation of your pain grab His hand instead.
 
 if you were to ask me what Jesus is to me... i'd say Jesus is loving. He is kind. He is forgiving. He is a healer. He is comfort. but most of all... He is needed. man, i'm glad He doesn't give up on me. quit playing with his grace. get to know Him.

​We NEED a young generation of strong warriors! We NEED a church that is not afraid to stand up and stand out for Jesus. We NEED the guts of this new generation!
And they NEED us! To rally with them & join in. Their ways and insights may be different than past generations, but if Jesus is front and center, that is all that matters.

Will you join me in praying for this young generation as they fight daily against an enemy who wants to destroy them. Will you pray for our generation to step up to encourage, equip and support them as they rally the troops for God’s Kingdom in this crazy time in our world?!
