WHAT WE'RE ALL ABOUT
UPDATE COMING SOON!!!! - WOW is there SO MUCH to update here! I will be working to summarize and catch you up to all the unbelievable God adventures I have been riding along on these past many years since this was written!!
This little community on the internet is where I expect you to find friends! Your first friend here, ME, loves God big and is still learning who He really is and how big His love is for us.
You will see and hear real life stories that are not all unicorns and rainbows. We seem to expect a story book life, especially when we are trying to grow in the Christian life, but life happens to all of us. I am the friend who has walked, ran, stomped her feet at times, and fell flat on her face a time or two on the journey of faith.
You may be in a season of life where you are doing all the ‘right’ things per what you’ve heard. But instead of feeling the peace & joy that was promised, you feel utterly exhausted!? All of the things a good Christian gal is supposed to do has started to feel like just another box on the time-sucking TO-DO list. I GET IT!! I lived that way for WAY.TOO.LONG! You truly want to live a life on fire for Jesus. You want to teach your children things you never knew. You want them to know how to live a life of purpose and meaning instead of just keeping up with mundane life of constant going to pay the bills. ( WE all want that, right?!)
BUT HOW? Do you find your Relationship with God exhausting, rather than exhilarating? You want to know God more, but you have no idea where to start. You may have accepted Jesus, been baptized and now wondering what to do?? If you are like me, you need a ‘HOW TO list’ or ‘Beginners for Jesus’ or something of the like to feel like you are making progress. You hear others talk of the peace and joy….and you wish you had some of that. You are a smart one, but may be a new Christian, or just now realizing there is more, but it is just so confusing trying to figure it out on your own.
That is why this community is here! WELCOME to the party!
This gal gathering here is where you will find LOVE & HELP! This site is made to help young women (remember old is relative!) find that this life with God is not just about Heaven after we suffer thru this crazy life, but here in the everyday life too. This place is where you will find a friend who will act like your big sister, turning around & running back to you, grabbing your hand and helping you run the race. There will be tips and helps all along the way! I will help you learn from my many stumbles and the many grace gifts.
God has so much for each of us today, here, and now! God wants to show you the amazing life He has planned for you…. while you live in the craziness of everyday life!
Everyone is busy. Time is precious and I get that! This site is not to take up space, beg for readers or my personal gain. This site is for YOU! You are so special to God! He designed you exactly as you are for a special purpose in this life…TODAY!( Ephesians 2:10)
I want to help you find a personal, everyday Relationship with Him and to help you learn to look and listen for your plan and purpose which will bring that ABUNDANT LIFE!
I want to help you understand the Bible, God, Jesus, Holy Spirit and Christianity in real-life, simplified terms that you can understand. You will hear how the Bible relates to your life today as you navigate college, adulthood, marriage, children and the many hard questions and situations that go along with every stage. If you question or have doubts about a certain thing, I can guarantee you that many others do as well. Let's work thru them together!
God wants to use this community to point you to the “ABUNDANT LIFE” he promised in John 10:10
You will notice there is no PHD or other letters behind my name. My education is from living real life, the stumbling, hitting the brick wall of self-sufficiency, and finding who my God was in the hardest of times. I was so blessed to have godly women in my family who knew God and His power to fix any mess I made. Through their faithfulness and prayers, this hard-headed chick has experienced unbelievable miracles that only God could have orchestrated!!
I am that friend, mentor, advisor, teacher who wants to help you along your journey of faith. I want to encourage you to be all He created you to be. Teaching/leading Youth, College, and Women over the past 18 years (wow…I really don’t feel that old!) has given me great opportunity to have God use me in this way. My heart still swells when I see young women living a life for Jesus that were once little shy girls in my youth class.
Helping you grow deep spiritual roots into your heart is why I am here! When your heart is changed to be like His, you will then overflow onto your classmates, co-workers, spouse, and children… “each one reach one” and have the ripple effect goes on & on.
I just love you! I may not know your name (yet), but I love you and the other young ladies that desire a relationship with God in a life changing way. Ohhh, it excites me!! It is the BEST.LIFE.EVER!!
About me...growing up going to church, I always heard ‘God love you” and “You should love God”. I accepted Jesus at 9 and finally felt that He really did love ME! I knew all the Sun School answers and the church lingo and motions, but my RELATIONSHIP with God was all but non-existent until my early married years. Until then, it was all about going thru the motions and good appearances from the outside. Living the ‘I’m going to do this life MY way” and you are just supposed to bless it God.
Things changed BIG TIME in my early adulthood. I married at 18 and had my baby girl at 21. Life handed me trials and sufferings I never in a million years imagined I would have to deal with. HARD is an understatement! BUT during these awful years, as I cried out to God for help, an amazing, new RELATIONSHIP was born and it BOOMED! i Would go thru it all again for what was gained!
So, if you hang around, you will find out that I love deep and hard. I love encouraging others to the awesomeness God sees in them. My life is the same as yours, not always nice and neat…just REAL. I am genuine and open (at times too much). I am a trying-to-recover Type A personality. Married to James since 1988 (almost 35 yrs). Can and do cook, but I hate it. I LOVE music! Listening to it because I have ZERO musical talent. I work hard to manage my chronic illness (fibromyalgia/CFS). Dark chocolate is my vice. I now have a perfect & precious 1st granddaughter born Oct 2016 that has captured my heart!
